Monday, July 22

1:25 p.m. — Reporting party advising there is a branch that blocks the yellow light at Avenue A and Seventh Street when it is windy. The red and green lights are still visible. Officer advised.

2:13 p.m. — Phone scam reported in Millers Falls. Reporting party states the caller was trying to get money and asking him to do things for them. Also reporting his Facebook was hacked and is wondering if the same person did it. Reporting party was advised to block the number.

Tuesday, July 23

10:03 a.m. — Reporting party would like to speak with a supervisor about the lack of police action in apprehending someone. No answer on call back.

4:37 p.m. — Reporting party on Dry Hill Road states there is a 600-pound bear at his front door. Caller states he understands there isn’t much police can do but wanted police to be aware there is a bear in the area.

Wednesday, July 24

6:30 a.m. — Caller reports several sheep are scattered in the area of Federal Street. Officer checked the area, no sheep found.

12:13 p.m. — Turners Falls High School employee reporting a storage garage at the football field was broken into. Nothing missing. Door damage may have been from maintenance.

Thursday, July 25

7:36 a.m. — Employee at the Department of Public Works building reports a male party has been showing up on the property and being aggressive toward staff. Individual has also come inside the building and sat in the employee breakroom. They do not want him on the property anymore. Male party was located at Cumberland Farms and was told he is no longer welcome at the DPW building unless it is for official business.

6:48 p.m. — Caller reports there are 12 juveniles fighting in the baseball field on Third Street. Reporting she and others from the brewery broke up the fight once before and they restarted. Officer advised. Officer spoke to the group of juveniles, all state no fighting was going on. They were advised of the ongoing complaints.

11:12 a.m. — Owner of Connecticut River Liquors on Avenue A reports a shoplifting incident that occurred on Tuesday. Officer advised.

4:26 p.m. — Security alarm sounding at Flower Power Growers on Industrial Boulevard. Greenhouse general area. Building is secure. Accidental/defective alarm.

Saturday, July 27

9:55 a.m. — Caller on Federal Street reports his mailbox has been vandalized again, marking the fourth time in two months. Caller plans to get a P.O. box.

9:06 p.m. — Caller from First Street is concerned about a male party standing alone behind a building near the old police station. Male party had some type of “blinking” device near him. Officer investigated. Male party located, no issues, just flying a drone.

9:35 p.m. — Caller from Marshall Street heard “crashing sounds” coming from the apartment upstairs. No one is home upstairs, according to the caller. Officer investigated but found no one in the apartment and nothing out of the ordinary.

Sunday, July 28

8:17 a.m. — Employee at the Nouria gas station on Third Street reports there was a man in the store covered in blood. Employee asked the man to leave but he is now standing behind the propane tank outside. Caller would like a welfare check and for the party to be removed. Subject left, heading west on Third Street toward Avenue A. Unable to locate.

1:31 p.m. — Shelburne Control Dispatch Center requesting assistance in attempting to locate a cellphone. Officers are trying to locate two kayakers who were last heard from on Friday. Phone last pinged near the riverbank on Greenfield Road in Montague, just south of They Keep Bees. Last know location checked, nothing found. Officer spoke with Deerfield Police who had spoken to one of the kayakers. They were having a phone-free weekend.

3:19 p.m. — Report of a Dodge pickup with the windows smashed out parked in the Montague Plains. Vehicle was stolen from High Street in Charlemont and was not entered as stolen. Koch’s Towing en route with a flatbed.

10:03 p.m. — Caller reports a blown transformer behind the Shea Theater Arts Center on Avenue A. No smoke or fire seen. Street lights are out in the area.
